About the Training

This practical session equips caregivers with real-world techniques to support safe mobility while protecting their own well-being.

This training is designed for caregivers who:

  • Are currently on our staff and seeking formal mobility and transfer training
  • Support clients with:
    • Mobility or balance challenges
    • Wheelchairs or walkers
    • Fall-risk considerations

Outcomes & Topics Covered

Caregivers will gain:

  • Knowledge of safe mobility principles and injury prevention
  • Improved body mechanics and positioning
  • Hands-on training in:
    • Sit-to-stand and surface-to-surface transfers
    • Gait belts and transfer aids
    • Car transfers
    • Stair, curb, and threshold safety
  • Greater awareness of fall-prevention strategies
  • Tools to adapt care for different client needs
  • Confidence in knowing when to pause, adjust, or seek support
