About the Training
This practical session equips caregivers with real-world techniques to support safe mobility while protecting their own well-being.
This training is designed for caregivers who:
- Are currently on our staff and seeking formal mobility and transfer training
- Support clients with:
- Mobility or balance challenges
- Wheelchairs or walkers
- Fall-risk considerations
Outcomes & Topics Covered
Caregivers will gain:
- Knowledge of safe mobility principles and injury prevention
- Improved body mechanics and positioning
- Hands-on training in:
- Sit-to-stand and surface-to-surface transfers
- Gait belts and transfer aids
- Car transfers
- Stair, curb, and threshold safety
- Greater awareness of fall-prevention strategies
- Tools to adapt care for different client needs
- Confidence in knowing when to pause, adjust, or seek support
