Why Smoothies?

Smoothies are a convenient way to pack a variety of nutrients into a single meal or snack. They can provide much-needed fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, which are essential for maintaining energy levels and overall health. Here are some delicious and nutritious smoothie recipes from Jennifer that you can easily make at home.

Delicious and Nutritious Smoothie Recipes

Cherry Chocolate Smoothie

  • 1/4 cup frozen cherries
  • 1/2 banana
  • Handful of organic spinach leaves or greens of choice
  • 1 serving of protein powder
  • 1 serving of CocoaVia Cardio Health powder
  • 1 tbsp. organic almond butter
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 cup of nut milk of choice or organic whole milk if dairy is tolerated
  • Ice as needed

Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Smoothie

  • 1-2 tbsp organic peanut butter (Santa Cruz Organics recommended by Jennifer)
  • 1 small/medium banana
  • 1 serving of protein powder
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 serving of CocoaVia Cardio Health powder
  • Handful of organic spinach leaves or greens of choice
  • Ice as needed

Berry Berry Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup mixed frozen organic berries
  • 1/2 avocado (optional for added creaminess)
  • 1 cup coconut water (great for hydration and electrolytes)
  • Handful of organic spinach leaves or greens of choice
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • 1 serving of plain collagen powder
  • Ice as needed

Tropical Smoothie

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 cup frozen mango
  • 1 passionfruit (pulp and seeds)
  • 1/4 cup organic plain sheep, goat, or coconut yogurt (Coco June for Coconut yogurt)
  • 1 serving protein powder
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • Ice as needed
  • Optional shredded coconut sprinkled on top

For a smoother texture, add the whey protein powder at the end (quick blitz). This will help prevent your smoothie from becoming overly foamy and thick.

Please consider clients’ dairy, nuts or other allergies when preparing food for them.

The Power of Nutrition

Jennifer emphasizes that making mindful decisions about our diet doesn’t mean being perfect all the time. It’s about having the knowledge to make better choices consistently. Smoothies are an excellent way to start your day or recharge after a long day of caregiving.
